I sometimes like helping people buy a more interesting watch, and develop a taste in watches. Specially the more attainable but nice, brands like Baltic, CW, Formex are easy to recommend and people can imagine buying one. Making someone interested in spending 4k+ on a watch is a herculean task 😅Not sure what's wrong with me that I'm willing to pay those prices for a watch 😅

I think you're very Intelligent, because If you go buy the movement, you can navigate your decisions better in terms of buying what's best for you and not getting ripped off. Years ago, I bought an Gruen precision with I regret selling to this day. I've since bought an restored Omega which has grown on me, it's not about monetary value with the Omega, it's apart of me and symbolises a transition in my life I'm proud of. I've found a Unitas which I'm purchasing and I think it has one of those movements you've articulated. It's got a lovely patina to it. Can't wait to get my that on my wrist. I'm happy to load up a video of it for you and send you the link. I'm also in the process of getting a very old Gruin guild which I will put money aside to restore. It has those beautiful blue hands. My like for these amazing watches comes from my great grandfather who used to be a watchmaker. Thanks for sharing.

I must say there are some PF that I just love but sadly the cost of those I love tend to be a bit prohibitive. Nice acquisition. I’d wear that for sure!

Congratulations on a lovely acquisition , one of my favourite brands. When I reach ninety years of age and have to sell my house to pay for my wife’s care I will buy one of these. PS my house is worth more than my watch collection believe it or not.

I always wondered why some watches have 3 date numbers, until I read somewhere that the simple reason is to know what date it is when the hour hand obscures today's date, if that makes sense. I kinda like it on my Calibre de Cartier. Congrats on the new watch, starting to really like PF and certainly their Tonda line.

Very nice ! I got the Tonda 1950 in white gold without the moon phase. They are very thin .

Hi Bill. I got a Parmigiani Tonda 1950 (stainless steel). But I think in the stainless version the rotor is made from tungsten. The platinum and gold version of the watch - the rotor was made from platinum. Take care.

Today with an hugly apple watche young people have all information they wants,i just asked to me what is the interest of moon indication in an automatique watch complicated to set,who can stop easyly and cost an insane price...just for now the position of the moon..

The visual layout is at once complex and clean...sort of a simplified complexity in terms of reading the information. Love these due to the northern/southern hemisphere bit, but not thick at all. Also as a finish and texture fan, this dial is glorious!

Nice look. Not a moon phase fan, but watch has nice look and size.

It's a beautiful watch. I do like the dots for even-numbered dates with neighbouring dates shown (so you can read it). I'm not really big on moon phase either, but it can really look good on some watches, and it won't contribute much to the thickness of the movement. Anyhow, congrats sir! 👍

I was disappointed that you didn't mention the La Joux Perret G101 movement offered in some of their watches. With 4hz and a 68 hour reserve it would seem worthy of consideration.
